Notebook battery makers achieve revenue growth in March
Notebook battery makers Simplo Technology, Dynapack International Technology and Celxpert Energy have announced their March revenues with each achieving growth of more than 10% both on month and on year.
Simplo announced revenues of NT$4.3 billion (US$145.73 million) for March, up 10.05% on month and 16.14% on year, with revenues for the first quarter of NT$11.82 billion, down 8.26% on quarter, but up 23.61% on year.
Dynapack reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.25 billion for March, up 17.52% on month and 22.39% on year. Consolidated revenues in the first quarter reached NT$6.23 billion, down 10.24% on quarter, but up 36.87% on year.
Meanwhile, Celxpert had consolidated revenues of NT$449 million for March with growths of 26.83% on month and 17.09% on year, while the company's consolidated revenues in the first quarter hit NT$1.07 billion, up 19.77% sequentially, but down 7.67% on year.
Some market watchers expect battery makers to achieve growth in revenues and gross margins in 2012, due to increasing demand for lithium polymer batteries, which have higher gross margins.
